Hello Dr. Shroff my name is Sean Trotter. I suffered a SCI in 1999 to the L3 vertebrae and am an incomplete parapalegic. I am paralized below my knees but can walk well with a cane and am very active. Recently some friends have told me they would like to help me get stemcell treatment if it turns out i am a suitable candidate. After reading about what u do for people online i am very interested in talking with you further and seeing if you may be able to help me. I can be reached by phone at 6043566446 or by email at stilhere.st@gmail.com. Thank you for your consideration,

Hi Andrew,
I really don't think I have much to add. If you've already decided on and are planning to go to India for treatments, then you've gotten past the hard part, making the decision. If you have done any travelling outside of the US, especially to any third world countries, then you know that these countries do not operate like we do in the US. As long as you don't have any preconcieved ideas on what to expect in India, prepare for ther worst and everything should be OK, after all it is a third world country with 1.2 billion people. The people of India are very gracious and kind, but everyone of them will look for ways to take advantage of you and take whatever money they can from you. Everyone is out to make a buck from you. Be ultra careful when out shopping and sightseeing as there are pick-pockets and thieves everywhere, and since you are a foreigner, you will be targeted. Have a positive atitude in regards to the treatments and work hard in rehab. Enjoy your stay and do as much as you are physically able to do. Be perpared, the food sucks unless you like Indian cuisine . Take care and good luck. Reading my blog will prepare you as much as me telling you stuff.

Me too Rusty, still checking on your healing process and all. It sounds like you are still experienceing some positive strides. Good luck on the work force. Have you ever considered publicly speaking about your experience? And how important it is to continue living ones life irregardless to the hardships. Anyhow, take care. Stay healthy.

G-Ma and G-Pa, can't get any better than that. I know the feeling and it will just get better and better. I have been looking for your last letter here, we have been out of town an awful lot, but should be home for a while.
Keep us in your thoughts, you are in ours.

Fatema Daood:

You must always have hope, hope that some day someone will develop a treatment which directly benefits you and your condition. If you are considering stem cell treatments I advise you to do a lot of research before making this decision. There are many individuals and companies offering to treat you with stem cell injections and such, but most of them are just after your money and they prey on the desparate people around the world who are looking for help and "miracles" for their conditions. You can contact Dr. Geeta Shroff(embryonic stem cell treatments in India) at; geetashroff@hotmail.com Be ready to give her your complete medical history as far as the spinal cord injury is involved. There is a link on my blog to her, use it. Dr. Shroff will evaluate your condition and either offer to treat you or not. Good luck with whatever you decide and if you need further assistance don't hesitant to contact me.
